This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to create API keys on Binance.US and configure them for use with Cryptobots.io. Properly setting up your API keys is crucial for secure and efficient automated trading.
Before You Start: Account Verification
Before you begin the API key creation process, ensure your Binance.US account verification is complete. This is a mandatory prerequisite for accessing API management features.
Log In and Navigate to API Management
Open your preferred web browser and navigate to www.binance.us.
Enter your credentials to log in to your exchange account.
Once logged in, click the profile icon, then select API Management.
Create and Name Your API Key
Provide a unique name or label for your new API key, such as 'Cryptobots'. This helps you identify the key's purpose later.
Complete Security Verification
To create the API key, you must complete security verification using both your chosen Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) method and email confirmation.
Complete the 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) process. This could be via SMS or Google Authenticator, depending on your setup.
Confirm the API key creation via the confirmation email sent to your registered email address.
Configure API Permissions and IP Restrictions
After email confirmation, your newly created API keys will be visible. You must now configure their permissions and restrict access to trusted IP addresses for enhanced security.
Navigate to the top right corner of the API key details and select Edit restrictions.
Select Restrict access to trusted IPs only (Recommended).
In the IP address field, enter the following IP addresses for Cryptobots.io and press Confirm:
64.202.96.0/24
Now, select the necessary permissions that Cryptobots.io needs to function properly:
Enable Read
Enable Spot Trading
CRITICAL: Do not select Enable Withdrawals! This permission is not required for Cryptobots.io and should always be disabled for security.
Save Changes and Submit Your Keys to Cryptobots.io
Go back to Binance.US API Management and click the Save button at the top right corner of the API screen.
Enter your 2FA authentication method to confirm and save all changes.
For your account safety, your secret key will become hidden after it has been created, changes are saved, and you leave the API Key page. Ensure you copy your API Key and Secret Key immediately after creation.
Log in to your Cryptobots.io account and enter your API Key and Secret Key into the designated fields.
