This guide explains how to create KuCoin API keys and connect your KuCoin account to Cryptobots.io. You will create a key that can trade spot markets but cannot withdraw funds.
1. Log in to Your KuCoin Account
Go to www.kucoin.com and sign in. Complete identity verification and turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) if you have not already.
2. Open API Management
Open your account menu, choose API Management and click Create API.
3. Name the Key and Set a Passphrase
Enter a name such as "Cryptobots". Choose a passphrase (the API password) and save it. You will enter it in Cryptobots.io together with the key and secret. It is not your account password.
4. Select the Permissions
- General: on (read access)
- Spot Trading: on
- Margin, Futures, Earn, Transfer and Withdrawal: off
Never enable Withdrawal or Transfer. Cryptobots.io rejects keys that can move funds.
5. Restrict Access to Our Server IP
Choose the option to restrict access to trusted IPs only (recommended) and enter this IP address:
173.212.219.147
6. Complete Security Verification
Confirm with the email code and your 2FA code. KuCoin then shows your API key and secret.
7. Copy Your Keys and Connect
Copy the API key, secret and passphrase right away: the secret is shown only once. In Cryptobots.io open Exchanges, click Connect exchange, choose KuCoin, paste the three values and click Test and connect. We check them with KuCoin immediately.
